Here Are the 5 Reasons Why

You guys…! Here’s the deal, I can’t remember the last time I ate a banana plain, but over the last two months I have been whipping through at least 1 or 2 naners a day. I didn’t realize I was doing it until literally every time I looked at my grocery list bananas were front a center. After a thorough analysis of my diet, I have cracked the banana mystery. My 5 favorite banana indulgences are so so easy but THE MOST delicious!

  • Morning Smoothies – Freeze over ripe bananas and add one banana to your morning smoothie everyday. Bananas are rich in fiber, antioxidants and all sorts of added nutrients.
  • Banana Nice Cream – If you’re a pint of ice cream a night kind of girl or guy, I have the perfect healthy solution for you!
    • Ingredients:
      • Frozen ripe bananas (if your bananas are spotty and brown, they are perfect for this recipe)
    • Directions:
      • Blend bananas in a high speed blender until ice cream consistency is achieved.
      • Flavor with your favorite fruits, healthy chocolates, superfood powders or whatever your heart desires.
  • Vegan Banana Bread – Kill two birds with one stone when you make this recipe. Make your home or apartment smell like heaven and enjoy a plant based banana bread that is to die!
    • Ingredients:
      • 1 3/4 cups of vegan flour
      • 1 1/4 tsp baking powder
      • 1/2 tsp baking soda
      • 2/3 cups vegan sugar
      • 1/3 cups vegetable shortening
      • 2 flax eggs
      • 2 tbls homemade nut milk
      • 3 ripe bananas
    • Directions:
      • Stir flour, baking powder, baking soda and a pinch of salt together in a large mixing bowl.
      • In a medium mixing bowl stir together sugar, shortening, flax eggs and milk until smooth.
      • Mix wet mixture and dry mixture with a hand mixer.
      • Add bananas one at a time until smooth.
      • Grease a loaf pan with coconut oil and add banana bread dough.
      • Top with desired toppings, hemp seeds, nuts, fresh bananas, anything you want.
      • Cook for 60 to 65 minutes on 350 degrees.
  • Vegan Chocolate Pudding with Bananas and Avocado – A flashback to middle school Snack Packs with a healthy and sophisticated twist.
    • Ingredients:
      • 1/4 cup nut milk
      • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
      • 1/2 cup maple syrup
      • 1 ripe banana
      • 1 avocado
      • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • Directions:
      • Blend all ingredients until smooth.
      • Portion pudding into serving dishes.
      • Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
  • Puppy Treats – My puppy is OBSESSED with dehydrated banana. Right before our bananas get spotty and brown, we slice and dehydrate them to give to Olive as treats. She drools for them!
